By a ruling of 5-4, the justices voted to uphold the law.

All eyes will continue to be on the Federal and State Government to see what happens next, especially come election- time. Meanwhile, the regional health insurance carriers will continue to create a framework that increases care coordination through payment that rewards value and quality. According to Group Health’s CEO, Scott Armstrong “The starting point for a successful Exchange is to make sure that as many people enroll as possible. As we move forward, we will focus on working with policymakers to ensure that it is easy for people to participate. We believe that people need to have access to transparent information about quality so they can make smart decisions about their care based on a clear understanding of value.”

DCB will strive to assist our clients and prospects in navigating the ever-evolving health care marketplace.

Marc Stein described it best in the Daily Dime on espn.com this morning. He was describing the Oklahoma City Thunder’s win over the Miami Heat in the first game of the NBA finals. “Oklahoma City wound up treating the opening game of the championship round with ….unwavering self-belief — with a dash of blissful naiveté — that somehow allows these youngsters to play as if they have no idea what’s at stake.”
I view DCB in a similar light. We are somewhat naive to what the “ABC Brokerage Firms” out there are doing with their Employee Benefits Clients. We believe in ourselves and our capabilities even though we are the “little guy”. We just keep trucking along. Doing what we do best, taking one day at a time, leaving it all on the court, and coming back for more the next day.

Said Thunder sage Derek Fisher, competing in his eighth Finals and chasing his sixth ring: “We’ve demonstrated for however long that we’re just going to play the game until it’s over. … We’ve got a locker room full of guys that are extremely competitive and fearless and not afraid of the moment.”

The same could be said for our guys, not in a locker room per se, but out there talking up DC Benefits trying to make things happen and win our first ring.
